Master key systems

A master key system lets a business manage many doors under one plan for key control. Each employee carries a key that opens only the doors they need, managers carry a key for their area, and the owner or facility manager has a master key that opens everything. When someone leaves, only the locks on their key need attention, not the whole building.

Scott creates master key systems that help businesses manage multiple doors under the same key control. He completed Best Practices in Master Keying training through the ALOA Security Professionals Association.

When to rekey a business

Rekeying is the fastest way to take back control of who can get in. Plan a rekey when:

  • An employee, manager or contractor leaves and you can't account for every key.
  • Keys are lost or stolen.
  • You move into a space that someone else used before you.
  • You've lost track of how many copies are out there.

Rekeying keeps the hardware you already have. Only the inside of the lock changes, so it costs less than replacing locks and takes less time.

Why high-security cylinders matter

A standard key can be copied at almost any hardware store. A high-security cylinder uses a patented key that can only be duplicated through authorized channels. That gives you key control: you decide who has a key, and copies can't be made behind your back. For offices with sensitive records, cash or inventory, that control is often the point.

Scott installs whichever high-security brand the customer wants, including Medeco, Mul-T-Lock and Schlage. He has completed Schlage High Security Cylinder Servicing training through IDN-H. Hoffman.

Common Questions

Do you work with businesses outside the Phoenix Valley?

Yes. Duboff Locksmith Services is a mobile locksmith based in San Tan Valley and serves businesses from Tucson to Flagstaff, including the Phoenix Valley, Pinal County, the Tucson area, Globe-Miami, Payson, the Verde Valley and Flagstaff. Outside the 15-mile local area, call for pricing.

What should I do when an employee leaves with a key?

Rekey the doors that key opened. Rekeying changes the pins inside the lock so the old key stops working, and you keep your existing hardware.

Do you set up master key systems?

Yes. Scott creates master key systems that let a business manage multiple doors under the same key control, so each person's key opens only the doors they need.

Which high-security lock brands do you install?

Whichever brand the customer wants, including Medeco, Mul-T-Lock and Schlage.

Do you install panic bars and door closers?

Yes. Scott installs and services exit devices, panic bars and door closers.

What is a high-security cylinder?

It's a lock cylinder that uses a patented, restricted key. Copies can only be made through an authorized dealer with proper authorization, not at a hardware store. Scott has completed Schlage High Security Cylinder Servicing training.

Do you handle commercial lockouts after hours?

Yes. Emergency lockout service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for businesses as well as homes.

Can you work around our business hours?

Tell us your hours on the quote form or when you call, and Scott will plan the work around them.

Do you also work on safes and vaults at businesses?

Yes. Scott opens and services safes, installs electronic safe locks, and services bank vault doors and time locks.
